Gotta love the Hulk!

9/9/12

On Sunday I had a day off as I switched with Clare as she was going away. Me and Amy headed to Universal Studios again as it closed early the other day. It was raining when we got up so lots of other ppl who were gonna come didn't but we didn't want to stay home so got the I-Ride. By the time we got there the rain had stopped and there was no waits for the rides it was so good. We got food and then went on Men in Black which is loads of fun but my score was soo low and I get really competitive on that ride! Then we did the Horror and Makeup show and the lady doing was hilarious, so many jokes she said you'd never get away with at Disney! On the way out they pulled us into a magic show which was actually really good and all the tricks they did you could buy. There was one where the guy levitated a coin and then if you gave him a note he'd make it move in the air. We could not work out how he did it. I really wanted to buy it and do it at work to amuse guests but then you could't really tell them 'yea, buy it at Universal!' There was also a flaming wallet too that you could make catch fire.

We went on Despicable Me - 'it's so fluffy i'm gonna die!' which used to be Jimmy Neutron and way before that the World of Hannah Barbera. The rides pretty much the same but in 3D and I really enjoyed it. We did The Mummy as that was a walk on and then Disaster. We also did Twister as Amy had never done it. Unfortunately Jaws has gone now as there building more Harry Potter stuff. Last time I came out here the rollercoaster Rip Ride Rockit wasn't operating so finally I got to ride it. We got lucky and were at the front plus it was only a 5 minute queue. It's really weird cuz it's only a lap bar but it's huge. You get to select a track to play as you ride it so I had NERD Rockstar - reminded me of friends back home! When you come off and look at your ride photo they also film you so you can watch a video of yourself. Ours was hilarious and note to self a dress is not good on a roller coaster! We then decided to find funny ride pics of ppl and watch their videos, we found some hilarious ones and then this group walked by and realized we were watching their brother so joined in watching and laughing with us - coulda been awkward! We also did Shrek4D and tried on loads of ears/hats etc in the gift store. There were cast members advertising some pay per view wrestling that was being filmed and we could watch for free but we wanted to see the firework show which is new. When they said Hulk Hogan was gonna be there we got ridiculously excited and decided to stop by after the fireworks! The firework show was really good it was celebrating 100 years of movies and they had loads of good movie clips playing on water screens.

When it finished we headed to the soundstage where the wrestling was and we ended up having the best time! All the seats were full so we were stood down around the ring and it was hilarious. Two guys were wrestling and its so fake its funny, Then loads of men jumped in the ring and there was this fake 'riot' and then the Hulk came out! It was hilarious he was like 'someone call the police, so and so is hurt!' And then later they had this video play where the 'police' showed up and spoke to Hogan. Later the hottest guy came out to wrestle and he was a fellow Brit. Me and Amy were cheering him on but everyone was booing him so we didn't want to be too loud there seemed to be a lot of hard core fans there. Amy tweeted him later to show our support lol We would have stayed longer but didn't want to miss the last I-Ride home and missioned it to the stop in like 15 mins. Turned out to be such a fun day!

Road Trip

5/9/12

So today I got to check off some things on my bucket list as we hit the beach and watched a baseball game! Seven of us rented a car and I drove us down to Tampa. We got a massive SUV and when we picked it up at the Dolphin hotel I was like how am I meant to drive this! It was a Chrysler Suburban and the only car I've driven is a Vauxhall Corsa! It was good fun though and so easy to drive as it was an automatic, it just took a while to get used to the size as I was worried I would drift lanes. Driving out here is so easy though as the roads are huge and most junctions are traffic light controlled but the speed limit kept changing on the freeway and I'd have no idea what it was. We headed to Walmart first to get food for our beach picnic then headed to St Pete's beach in Tampa which is almost a 2 hour drive.

We'd never been before but looked online and as St Pete's Beach was closer to Tropicana Stadium we headed there. It was amazing and soo quiet. We parked up and there was hardly anyone else around. The sea was soo shallow we could walk really far out and it was really clear. There were loads of little house looking right onto the beach I wish I could afford one. It was such a hot and clear day we went in the sea loads although it took Chloe and bit of coaxing as she was afraid of all the fish and freaked out when Nathan said he saw stingrays! I never saw any though.

In the late afternoon we changed and headed to St Petersberg. When we found parking for the game we had a little wonder to the pier and it was so nice to be out somewhere where people are walking and cycling around and it feels safe! Noone walks anywhere around here and they look at you like your crazy if you do! There was a free shuttle to the stadium which was nice and didn't take long. The stadium was absoluelt huge and our seats were so high up but we had a great view of everything, I have noo idea how the scores worlked but the Rays were doing well for quite a while but the Yankees one. Such a bizarre game to watch as it lasted like 4 hours and during the game we got up to look round the stadium and get hot dogs - classic game food!- and look at the stores. Bought a foam finger which is now pinned to my wall! I really wanted a Rays t-shirt but couldn't justify the price! Had such a fun time and can't wait to go to another game!

6/9/12

On Thursday I had a ADO (authorised day off) so me and Amy got up early to return the car. Was soo nice to get in and drive to get her rather than walk the 7 minutes to her appartment, I so miss having a car! You get to places so quickly compared to the buses and you can get soo much more done in a day. We got fuel and stupidly went to the most expensive petrol station in the area cuz noone told us! Still £30 to fill half the tank isn't bad compared to the cost at home! After we dropped the car off me and Amy did a bit of sunbathing at the Swan and Dolphin although. It's one of the nicest pools with a waterfall and hot tubs. When it looked like it might rain we headed home to change then got the I-Ride to Universal Studios as I wanted to get my annual pass. It's only 25cents for cast and it goes all the way up international drive so its really handy but also slow. So if you're not in a rush it's great to use otherwise you'd need a taxi. When we got to Universal it was actually closing in an hour cuz of a private event but as it was so empty we went on ET and The Simpsons with no wait then raced over to Islands of Adventure and on Harry Potter with no wait which Ive never seen before! Gotta love the parks in September. We did Spiderman aswell and then the park closed so we got some food and browsed the shops. There's so many clothes Ive seen that I want so I'm trying to save a lot of my money at the moment so I can buy the odd new thing! It's hard when you're on a merch wage and the servers can take home in a day what you get in a week!

7/9/12

Going back to work after 3 great days off was hard especially as it was extra magic hours and Ive never worked them before! Had a 12 to 12.15 shift and by the time it got to 10pm I was so tired! By the time it was 11.30 about five of us were running around Crown and Crest doing a scavenger hunt that someone had made to help us pass the time when we get bored!

Happy Almost Birthday Epcot!

31/08/12

So on October 1st it's Epcots 30th Anniversary and to celebrate they were having a cast party today to start the 30 day countdown along with a photo infront of the fountain before the park opened. I really wanted to do the photo as I will never get the chance to do it again so a bunch of us got up crazy early and  got the 6.30am bus to Epcot. We headed to the old Wonders of Life Pavillion where they were having food, a cake and various things going on. Getting there at 7am we were expecting breakfasr but it was actually chicken, veg and rice etc. as it was meant for the staff who'd been working nights! But we weren't gonna turn down free food so at 7am we were eating chicken and ice cream for desert - of which Chloe had 3! Each table was also covered in sweets and some managers were going around and giving out prizes for answering trivia questions. They also had a massive cake that was so tasty and covered in hidden mickeys.

At half 7 we headed outside for the photo. Walking through Future World at that time was so bizarre as it was empty and we could never normally walk through there in costume so we took plenty of pictures! There was a crane set up for the picture and Mickey and Minnie were at the front. I managed to squeeze between two guys so you should see my head. Then once we were done we realised that we should take our own pictures as you can never go up on the fountain and we got some awesome pics of us all with Spaceship Earth behind us.

We then headed back inside to change and over to the character spot to get a pic with the fab five! Then we did Soarin, Nemo and Turtle Talk and went for more free food. The characters were wondering around the party too so we got lots of pics with them before heading off with Matt and Daria for some more rides as it was there last few days. In the afternoon Chloe and I headed to All Star Sports so she could check her friends in and as the weather was so good we just sunbathed there until about 7pm

Sunday 9 September 2012

Off to a cabin in the woods!

28/8/12

Today we headed to Fort Wilderness where 12 of us had booked two cabins for the night. With 60% off it was just $20 each so such a bargain! We went to Publix to get BBQ food, snacks and alcohol then headed to check in. We were planning on having a BBQ and heading to the campfire to roast marshmallows with Chip and Dale. However we had pretty torrential rain all evening so we had a BBQ in the rain and played a few drinking games. We headed to the campfire area but by this time the rain was so bad we got absolutely drenched. Instead we bought more wine and made up drinking games to whatever was on TV until Clare and Chloe joined us after work. It was a really fun and chilled out evening but I really want to go again when the weathers better and do the Chip and Dale singalong

29/8/12

The next morning me Clare and Nathan went to explore the resort. We got some quick service breakfast and looked at the horses which you can ride. Then we chilled by the beach for a bit and took tons of pics. As Clare had work in the afternoon I headed to Epcot with her and we had some fun before her shift started. We walked on the Nemo ride and got our pics taken with Stitch and Daisy.

In the evening I met up with Chloe and Amy at Hollywood studios as they had early finishes. We headed straight for Star Tours and I got another new sequence, I love that ride more every time I go on it! We ate at Pizza Planet then headed to my favourite place to draw characters. We got Woody this time and I learnt that Chloe is as good at drawing characters as Clare is so I really need to practice!
We were going to watch Fantasmic but as its the off season now there was only one showing and it was full so we headed to Tower of Terror instead and managed to do a sleeping pose for the ride photo.
