I miss having a car

So on Friday the bus broke down on the way to work. The replacement bus had no A.C. Finally the third bus we were transferred to got us there.

Days Off

24/7/12

Chloe and I had Tuesday off so finally I got to go to Epcot to play rather than work! Only taken me 5 weeks to do it! We were going to start out early but I couldn't get up I was so tired and Chloe who'd been to lasses the night before was up before me! We headed in around 11am and headed straight to Soarin for fast passes. The queue was already at 155 minutes and the fast passes were for 6pm! With Test Track being refurbished Soarin is even busier than normal. We got a massive cinnamon bun each as we were starving then watched the Lion King movie all about being environmentally friendly, Epcot's all about learning you see! Then we headed to Imagination which had a queue, I hate the parks in the Summer when you have to queue! Captain EO was a walk on though and I love it sooo much! It's a 3D show with Michael Jackson that was around in the 90's and they brought it back cuz its so good. The Nemo ride was insanely busy so we skipped it and did Turtle Talk which is soo much fun. It's set up so kids can ask the turtle from Nemo questions and he answers them, it can be hilarious to watch.

Mission Space was busy and had no fast passes left so we started to make our way around World Showcase. First stop was Canada where we watched their show, then we stopped by the UK to say hi and take pics of everyone working then headed straight to the USA for lunch. I had the kids meal which I am no going to get everywhere at Disney as it's super cheap and you get a side and a cookie! We watched the American Adventure show then headed through Morocco, Japan and France. Although I've been to Epcot so many times I really don't remember visiting these pavilions properly and they are amazing. The shop in Japan is huge and sells crazy stuff! Morocco is amazing and we had fun trying on belly dancing costumes. France have an amazing bakery which I can't believe I had never been to before! By this time we had to use our fast passes on Soarin which I love. You sit in rows of seats then the whole thing moves up and hangs infront of a massive screen as though you are on a hang glider thing soaring over California. When you go over Orange groves and Pine trees you can smell them it's amazing. We then headed to Mexico and had fun taking pictures of each other in Sombreros and went on the boat ride. Norway was next and they have a fun boat ride all about vikings and trolls. They also sell biscuits called Annas which I'd never seen before! By now it was almost time for the firework show so we missed Germany, Italy and China and will do those another day. It was so nice to watch the fireworks as a guest and actually enjoy them as for 5 weeks I have been closing up a register or the cart as they are going off!

25/7/12

My second day off I sunbathed at the Commons pool whilst I waited for Natalie and Fern, then we all headed to the Polynesian for some sunbathing. Its an amazing hotel I love it. It has a Hawaiian theme and you can watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach. For once it didn't rain so we stayed in the pool until around 7pm then headed to the Magic Kingdom. We went on the teacups, new Dumbo, Barnstormer kids rollercoaster, It's A Small World, Haunted Mansion, Mickeys Philharmagic, Jungle Cruise and Aladdins magic carpets. Then there was another Main Street Electrical Parade at 11pm so we stayed for that and then had a browse though the shops on Main Street before heading home.

It's my Friday!

It's my Friday! So happy I have two days off and I really want to make the most of them as I have a 6 day week next week :( The money will be good though.

I actually had a fun day today as I was on Kidcot for a few hours with Elle who is one of the latest to arrive and really fun to work with and she loves interacting with the guests. Then after my last break I got put on Kidcot for the evening with Clare which is rare as usually only one does it until close and sometimes you have to do Kidcot and the toy register by yourself at the same time which I had to do the previous night which was very hectic! So we had loads of fun watching Tigger and Pooh dance to the band and do little routines whenever it was empty. Mary Poppins and Alice also joined us as it was raining outside. I'm very jealous as Clare got a picture with Tigger and Pooh in her costume as it was so quiet they invited her over. I missed out as I was helping to stock the toy store and tidy up! Had some of the cutest kids and one hilarious boy who in answer to my 'Have you had a fun day?' screwed up his nose at me, squinted his eyes and said 'yes' in a very accusing tone! Was so funny. Then some of us skipped Lasses and went for food as we were soo hungry after work. Got chatting to a family and told them we were from UK, England and worked at Epcot. They then asked if there was a Ukraine pavilion and thought we were from the Ukraine?!

Sunday I got stuck on cart for ages and it was soo windy I kept asking to close and finally they closed me but by that time most of the stock was all over the floor. Luckily a custodial guy came running over to help me pull all the sides down it was so bad! Finished the day on Kidcot and Toys, had a little boy ask me how you said his name in French? Then asked me to write it. I was like umm if you go over to the France pavilion they will tell you there, this is the UK. And his brother was like 'see I told you this was England!' In the evening a bunch of us went round Daria's for some Chinese take out. Was so so good and just what I needed, a nice chilled out evening. Was really cheap too and you get loads. Prawn crackers are odd out here though, multicolored!

Saturday I was stuck in sports for hours and then closed in there too but then a cute South African guy gave me his number and told me to call him so that was nice! Then in the evening me and Elle gave Cowboys a miss and went for food, ended up at Maccy Ds so there goes my two week pact with Laura. I'm really gonna try and avoid it now for a few weeks!

Happy Birthday Mum!

Just wanted to say Happy Birthday to my  Mum for last Friday and Happy Birthday to my brother for this Friday in case I don't get time to blog again! XX

Saturday 21 July 2012

Awkward guest moment of the week!

So in the sports store on Thursday a guest made the most inappropriate comment to me infront of his two young kids and loud enough for anyone nearby to hear. It was about the 2012 Olympic logo. Google 2012 Olympic logo Bart and Lisa Simpson and you'll know what he said. I just said 'I couldn't possibly comment sir!'

Bored on the bus

Figured I might aswell update my blog on the bus to work to pass the time! So Tuesday me and Kim planned to sunbathe at the Polynesian and have a nice chilled day. We headed to the Christmas in July event at Chatham first with becky and got some free dominos and drinks, went to have our pic taken with mickey and Minnie but they switched to Phineus and Ferb and we weren't gonna queue for that! Then Amy joined us and it started to thunder so we chilled at the commons pool and then decided we would just get on the first bus we saw as we couldn't decide what to do in the bad weather! The next bus was animal kingdom so we headed to Animal Kingdom Lodge and had a fun afternoon looking at the animals and creating our own buffet dinner by the pool. We just chatted crap for hours but it was good fun. On Wednesday the weather was much better so I sunbathed with Laura and then got maccy ds in the afternoon. I went 5 weeks without having one now I've had 2 in a couple of days so we've made a pact to not have another one for at least 2weeks! Thursday and Friday I was back at work. At our closing meeting one of our managers said he wants to organise backstage tours for us like haunted mansion, tower of terror, expedition everest and fantasmic which will be sooo good if we can do it!

ABC

Weeks go past so quickly here and yesterday was time for Lasses again! As it was peoples last there was a theme -ABC (Anything But Clothes) I only had half an hour to come up with an outfit after work so luckily Mars had an old bed sheet that I made a dress out of. Everyone's costumes were amazing, lots of people using bin bags and wrapping paper. We didn't go out until about 12.30 and we met the UK lads at a bar called Backstage where we had a game of flip cup. Then before we left everyone got in a circle outside the bar with Green Days Time of Your Life playing. It was really emotional seeing the people leaving getting upset thinking that will be us in 11 months time!

I want to be a Cowboy baby...

I love Cowboys! It's my new favourite place to go. I missed out on going last Saturday and I'm so glad I went this time as its soo much fun. A whole load of people were going as there's some people leaving this week. It's only $9 entry and you get free beers until 1.30, I hate beer but the Bud Light with lime is pretty good. It's in downtown Orlando and the car park is just full of pick up trucks and everyone wears plaid shirts and cowboy boots. There's a huge dance floor and people are line dancing which you think would be really easy but it was so hard to follow the steps. Really makes me want to get some boots and learn! The musics pretty awesome there too so def think I'm gonna go most Saturdays.
