I'm Here!

So after a flight delay of half an hour, 1 and a half hour immigration queue and some confusion with the bell hops I'm finally here!! I'm starving and need to find food so this is just a quick post!

It was emotional at the airport and I was crying going through security but luckily they let me go through the premium channel which was private and empty so only the guy working there saw me as a blubbering wreck! He was really nice about it though and chatting to me about what I was doing. My flight was half an hour late boarding due to 'technical issues' and the in flight entertainment didn't work for an hour or so and needed resetting but other than than that the flight was great, got a cheeky upgrade too :)
When we arrived we were right behind a Virgin Jumbo from Manchester so the queue at immigration was horrendous! I made it through easily though they didn't ask me much about my visa. Lugging two cases and my cabin bag was so not fun though. Had to go up an escalator with it all and got stuck at the top as I couldn't push one case off and ppl were building up behind me...so embarrassing!

Disneys Magical Express was great, our driver was called Rockland Steel?! He was awesome though and when he said which hotels we were stopping at he wanted everyone to cheer for their hotel. So when he yelled Caribbean Beach this huge cheer went, then when he yelled Pop Century of course I was the only one going there and I gave a lil cheer and he was like let's try that again and I had to whoop and cheer all by myself lol.

Checked in nice and easy but major confusion with the bell hop guys!! I had so much crap they put it on the trolley thing and said come back when you've got your room number, When I went back and spoke to him he grabs an empty trolley and takes me towards the car park asking where I'm parked? and I'm like noo you have my luggage over there and he got so confused and another one said 'where's your mom, is she meeting you in the room'. Sooo embarassing I was like um no, I'm (insert age here) and they were like oooo no way i thought you were like 19! Yea I looked a mess after a long flight but 19, great! So finally he took my bags to my room and got confused about my age again!? Then he realised I was from London and I told him I was only here 2 nights as I start work on the CRP at Epcot on Tues and he asked me how I liked working there...I haven't started yet! It was hilarious. Then when we got to my room I went to tip him and he was like noo your one of us and then he was going on about hoping to see me around. So Ive made a friend...

First Ever Blog Post!

Surprises and Packing

So this is my first blog ever and I've been following soo many other Disney blogs over the last year that have been really helpful so I thought I may as well start my own! I would have started it earlier and covered the whole application process but I didn't want to in case I didn't get accepted. Especially as I got put on the dreaded waitlist and it felt like I'd never get out there! There are lots of other bloggers out there who have covered the whole application process in great detail so check out my links for some of them!

I can't even remember how I found out about the CRP but I've been a Disney geek since forever and as soon as I found out I could work out there I applied. Two and a bit years after my first application I finally received an email with the best news ever, I'd be starting June 19th 2012! For anyone who's stumbled on this blog, the CRP is Disney's Cultural Representative Program where people from around the world can work at the Epcot theme park in the Walt Disney World Resort. It's just a one year visa and participants work in either Food and Beverage, Attractions or Merchandise representing their country. As I'm from the UK I'll be working in the UK Pavillion and in Merchandise.

So I fly out in two days so thought I'd better do a post before I'm stateside! The last few weeks have flown by and it doesn't really feel like I'm leaving. I don't think it will until I'm by myself on the plane! My Mum had a get together for me over the Jubilee weekend with all my Aunts and Uncles which was lovely to see them all before I leave. We had American flags and bunting everywhere it was great!

My friends threw me an amazing surprise party last weekend and I've never been so shocked and confused in my life! I honestly has no idea they were planning it, I even missed the sign outside that said closed for a private party. My brother has a great video of me walking in, and of course I cried seeing everyone there!

So my next post will probably be on Sunday once I've checked into Disney's Pop Century Resort. Seems soo surreal typing that. I still have to finish packing my cases, it's so hard to decide what to take for a year and it's ridiculous how much crap I have! Thank god I'm taking two cases I'd never manage with just one!
