Another huge update and I'll try and remember everything I've done in the last two weeks!

So we had the threat of Hurricane Isaac recently but in the end it was downgraded to a Tropical Storm which just meant lots of rain and wind as it headed west towards Louisiana. Last Monday was the worst day as the rain just didn't stop in the morning and the park was really quiet, Soarin had a 20 minute wait at 11am which is unheard of!

So last week Kate and I headed to Typhoon on our Tuesday off to try and get as much done as we could before a storm hit as in August it pretty much rains every afternoon. We made it to 2pm and did all the tube slides, some storm slides, Crush n Gusher water coaster, the wave pool and spent a lot of time in the lazy river. Usually we spend our Tragic Tuesdays (named for it being the day after lasses and also extra tragic hours in the parks) at the pool but we wanted to get out and do something different so I'm glad we went. A group of us headed to Epcot for dinner, planning on eating in Italy but everywhere we went needed a reservation so we ended up in Mexico for quick serviced which was really tasty. Then it started raining and as we had no umbrellas Amy suggested we buy Sombreros to keep dry. Best idea ever! The sombreros they sell are huge and $20 each so with 6 of us buying them we must have helped them hit their sales budget! We got frozen Margaritas to go with our sombreros then headed to the UK to take pics with our fellow cast members and pose for pics. Was so much fun and such a random night!

Wednesday me, Kate, Kim, Stacey and Sammie headed to Blizzard Beach. I've never been so it was exciting to see somewhere new. I prefer the theming of Typhoon Lagoon but Blizzard has amazing slides where you go down on mats on your front and it feels like your gonna flip over its insane! And their family raft ride is so fun as its so fast. Kim has this amazing digital camera that you can use underwater so its great to take to a waterpark. We made it to about 2pm before a storm hit so got some time in the sun. I was really cold though when I got home as it was windy and the temp dropped to 79' (26'C) which is hot for home but when you are used to it being in the 90s and the humidity 79 is chilly!!

Saturday I had a Basics training class at the Land Pavillion where they go over the Four Keys which is Safety, Courtersey, Show and Efficiency. It was actually a fun class as the guy was really fun and we got to act out scenarios. Then some characters came by on their way downstairs including the boss Mickey who gave a wave. Goofy had to remove his 'hat' to go downstairs though which was amusing, Then later when they came back up Donald was by himself and got a little lost trying to work out which door he needed. He was also missing his 'gloves' which was strange to see! I finished at 6.45 which is so rare so I walked to Hollywood Studios to meet Clare where we did the Animation Academy. This time we got to draw Chip and then Grumpy and I'm quite impressed with my grumpy. Usually my drawings are rubbish as I'm bad at circles but this one was alright. Clares are always amazing though they just look so right! When we left the studios and were waiting for a bus a minivan pulled up with a sheet of paper stuck inside saying E3 (the bus number) Apparently there was a problen with the bus so 11 of us got in and left a queue of pissed off ppl! I just kept laughing the whole ride home about how ridiculous it was and imagining if that had happened at Epcot.

That night we headed to cowboys and I haven't been for a few weeks so it was nice to go again. It was a lot of ppls last so we did the whole circle on the dance floor around them all and there was a lot of crying. It was quite sad this time as I know the two Merchies going and they are both lovely.

Sunday me, Clare and Becky stocked up on hurricane supplies (we got food but you still needed electricity to cook it all so if the power went out we would have been living on crisps!) we also got supplies for our costumes for Lasses. The theme was best of UK so 5 of us were going as the teletubbies with the sun!

At Walmart they don't like you to throw away fish?

So a quick bit about work! I was sat at Kidcot and a man came up and said 'May the good Lord bless you'. I was telling a lady how it's hard to eat healthy here and she said when she visited England all the food was fried and she couldn't find anywhere where it wasn't. When I was in Crown and Crest a guest walked in and said, 'Is this a restaurant?' And I heard a guy point to the Guinness stuff and say that's what they drink for Breakfast in Ireland.
